Spring cleaning in Masuria

Spring has been cleaning our Masuria. New grass and young leaves beam out with all fresh hues of green. Sun is shining in the blue sky. Buzzing bees work in meadows, singing birds are busy in woods, colourful butterflies sitting so close... Masuria is beautiful also in spring, isn't it?

Masurian Forests

We chatted today on our family BBM about strange trees around one of the biggest shopping malls in London. We've got May behind the window but they have no leaves?! Profesionals say those trees are dying and this is a reason for a lack of leaves now. On the other hand, Daria gave them still a chance! She said that trees are supposed to be turning into blue plush-trees: it's so obvious they need more time to create brand new leaves not in green, then :) She's an artist, of course! Moreover, she read some book about fairy forests during last year holiday... Anyway, a lot of very vivid trees in huge, beautiful forests of Masuria. All are green and smell in total like no other forest does in the world!

Masuria Derby

Looks like "Madrid Derby" coming this year in the Champions League final. Real and Atletico, both have great stadiums in the capital city of Spain. Who would think about such things over there years ago? But today football rocks the world. BTW, our wish for the nearest future? "Masuria Derby" in Polish Premier League ASAP, at least! Stomil Olsztyn v Jagiellonia Bialystok :) Neither Olsztyn nor Bialystok is in Masuria but Masuria between them, connecting more than well 2 also very beautiful Polish regions: Warmia & Podlasie.

Grain of Podlasie

Breathtaking, impressive and it's very close to Masuria. As a matter of fact part of Masuria is located also in Podlaskie Voivodeship, Poland. This is Podlasie, the grain of that mystic land by Polish filmmakers: Folga, Jankowski and Kubik. Watch now: Czastka Podlasia (BTW, don't bother, please, about the "Translated from Polish" on Facebook, a lot of work in front of Microsoft).

Masurian way of life... [3]

Highly impressive bridges in Stanczyki are one of most remarkable signs of the past in Masuria. Prussians were living for ages in this part of today's Poland. Their tribes built many settlements, quite similar to the Roman one discovered a few days ago in England. Native Masurians call them: "holy hills". These days also 'Prussian Wenches' make a Masurian hint of ancient times. They are statues looking like women holding horn of plenty and sword of bravery. There's a myth describing them as human souls turned into stone due to some punishment for their sins. Moreover, glacial rocks with fossil mussel shells are relatively easy to be found in Masuria. It happens even not far from the Masurian lanes of chestnut trees that look great all year long. Green in summer and white in winter, you'll be confused to assess which view is more beautiful!

Masurian Halo

Not any regional beer and even not Copernicus who used to live here in the past. Most interesting in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship's capital city offer for foreign tourists are lakes, lakes & lakes first of all - local survey shows very well: Gazeta Olsztyńska. Several of them in Olsztyn, all are ready for a big brand building. Not many such unique spots in the EU. Future seems to be much brighter with Masurian halo.

English Books for Masurian Libraries

Czytanie to forma zdobywania wiedzy i inspiracji życiowych niemal bezkosztowo. Jedno dobre szkolenie rozwojowe to limitowana ilość uczestników i zazwyczaj względnie duże koszty.

Turyści implikują pracę tam, gdzie licznie przybywają i wracają. Przyciągnąć ich raz można reklamą. Sprawić by wrócili mogą tylko lokalni Mieszkańcy.

Pozdrawiamy!

Masurian way of life... [2]

Everybody knows Masuria is famous for sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and canoe camping in summer as well as ice yachting in winter. The Great Masurian Lakes trail is about 100 miles long and attracts many European tourists year by year. You can start from Lake Mamry in the northern part of the Masurian Lake District, sail across the biggest Polish Lake Sniadrwy towards the Lake Nidzkie in the southern Masuria. But Masuria doesn't mean pure nature and clean water only. There's a lot of historic landmarks over there, for instance: monumental churches like Swieta Lipka, medieval castles like the Zamek Ryn built by Teutonic Order, Prussian compound Twierdza Boyen in Gizycko and timber framing watchtower Straznica Bosniacka in Mragowo.

Masurian way of life... [1]

The beauty of Masuria comes, in fact, from a very remote past. Thousands years ago a glacier was covering all the northeastern Poland. When it melted finally, a lot of hills, lakes and rivers appeared to be its everlasting inheritance. Today Masuria is famous for pure nature, first of all. There are many animal and plant species in Masuria you can't find easy anywhere in the world. Therefore coming to the Masuria's forests is like visiting a birds' heaven. Moreover, Masurian kayak trail on the meandering River Krutynia is the best family-friendly kayak trail in Europe. It starts in Sorkwity, on the northern shore of the Lake Lampackie, and ends on the Lake Beldany, about 60 miles away. It can be one of the most unforgettable family holidays for people who love active but silent holidays in a heart of the European Union.
