Heaven of Sailing

Masuria has one of the biggest sailing trails in the European Union. The trail of the Great Masurian Lakes is almost 100 miles long and leads you from the Lake Mamry in northern Masuria towards the Lake Nidzkie in southern Masuria. You'll fall in love with all those lakes with plenty of colourful sails in the summer. Sunsets in Masuria are breathtaking. Not only sailors like them much. Also people fond of pure, Made-in-Europe nature always return to Masuria. One of the most famous Polish poets - Konstanty Ildefons Galczynski, wrote beautiful words on Masuria that are being sung now: YouTube

Glacier of Masuria

The beauty of Masuria comes from ancient times - when all the country was covered by a glacier. Some change of climate made it melted and left over 4k clear-water lakes and many thousands of green-grass hills in northern Poland. There are also big beautiful forests and almost nowhere ending fields of pure nature over there. This diversity of nature makes Masuria not only the lungs of Poland but also lungs of Europe. Come and enjoy, real fresh air totally free & it's the EU!

Masurian Cabaret

The best of Masurian Cabaret Night returns to Polish TV channels. It means this year event coming soon. It'll take place on 9th July 2016. Undoubtedly, it's much better to watch it live at Mragowo's Amphitheatre by the beautiful Lake Czos. But watching TV, especially with your family and friends makes also fun (if they are familiar with Polish sense of humour). We are still laughing out loud after last weekend spent together in Warsaw, the capital city of Poland.

Beautiful birds in Masuria

White stork, great cormorant and common crane visit Polish Lake District every year. Reasons for their never ending returns to Masuria are great conditions for nesting and feeding the offspring. All birds make Masurian landscapes so unique in summer!

Heathrow - Masuria

Undoubtedly, regular flights from the London-Heathrow to the Olsztyn-Mazury will be the most visible part of future Masuria's success on the travel market in the EU. Hard to believe it's possible now but also Rome wasn't built in a day! :)

Masurian meadows full in gold in May. Dandelion and rapeseed make them so beautiful, so unique in the entire European Union. You'll be able to buy pure dandelion honey soon. The natural rapeseed honey will be available in Masuria, too. Both local honeys taste great and are very healthy, as well :)

A taste of the past...

Flying to Warsaw, with Polish national airlines LOT, usually means a hint of time travel for people born in Poland... The Prince Polo used to be one of the most favourite sweets for over 30m Poles. Today its taste is not worse than in 1980s, when you had to queue for a few hours to get it at a sweet shop. 'Prince Polo' is free of charge at LOT. It was and it is a very good local intro before travelling to experience present tastes of Masuria.

Most famous Polish university students' social event coming to Olsztyn in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. 'Kortowiada' is an annual holiday taking place close before the summer semester exams in Olsztyn's Kortowo "academic" council. Usually it's a cultural event with a lot of music and dancing. But computer gaming competitions and sport challenges are also a part of 'Kortowiada' these days. More info on the Fb fanpage: here...

Beautiful weekend in South East England, almost the same sort all we know so well from Masurian summers. Brighton on the English Channel was today's prime destination for more than many Londoners... It's a resort that Britain likes very much and probably will do even much more quite soon. Brighton's football club fights successfully for the Premier League promotion. All fingers crossed, as we can see: "Backing the Albion to win the high-stakes £200m play". This team's story very similar to the one of Stomil Olsztyn. Both clubs have also the same white and blue home colours. However, Brighton's Seagulls fight for a bit bigger amounts in the UK than Olsztyn's Kormorany do it in Poland, yet.

Prawie Mazury

Mazury, bezsprzecznie, jedyne w swoim rodzaju. Niemniej są na świecie miejsca, z których warto czerpać to, co najlepsze. Doświadczenie zawsze przydatne do czynienia dobrego jeszcze lepszym.

Piłka nożna to miejsca pracy w dzisiejszych czasach. Londyn pokazał, że to również nowe możliwości.

Improving BBC Weather

Improving BBC Weather app with weather for Olsztyn and Bialystok, next step... Maybe two great Polish-British journos from BBC can help? Kasia Madera and Tomasz Schafernaker, both succeed in London. Kasia is a star of very innovative BBC WorldNews. Tomasz is not only our favourite meteorologist from the BBC :)

Masurian way of life... [4]

Many places in Masuria are slowly embedded into a historical structure of that unique part of the European Union. Slow-life mansions with their central courts, parks and ponds are also accompanied by small churches and ancestral cemeteries. Today many villages look almost exactly like they looked 100 years ago. You experience slow motion perception over there, with all those barking dogs, tweeting sparrows, crowing roosters, horses eating fresh grass and even houses built out of stone and wood. Everything makes many Masurian towns are active members of global Cittaslow network focused on: "improving the quality of life (...) by slowing down its overall pace (...) and the flow of life and traffic through them".

BBC Weather

Looks like a lack of Olsztyn and Bialystok in BBC Weather app. There's no two big Polish cities in the EU but Russian Kaliningrad already available. First step towards the change we've just made...
