Our Daga drove towards our Cisówek in Masuria today. And what she experienced under the way? A lot of snow! ❄️☃️ It’s snowing in almost entire Warmian-Masurian. Very good, snowy and sunny weather forecasts for the winter-like weekend in northeastern Poland. Enjoy! 🌨☀️ BTW, winter in Polish is called: zima (you read it just as: ‘zeemae’).

Music linking generations in Warmian-Masurian

We missed a footage summarising the 26th Olsztyn Blues Nights. Here goes an update, have a look at the Kopernik TV: YouTubeAs you know, the Olsztyn Blues Nights is an international blues festival taking place in the capital city of Warmian-Masurian. There’s no older blues festival in Poland. Its first edition was in 1984. People say this music isn’t sad at all and is fully ready to link generations. We do agree!

Friendly Wembley

Roman and Maks visited Wembley stadium yesterday. This time they went as Stomil Olsztyn fans to watch Tottenham match against Grzegorz Krychowiak’s WBA. Roman said there was no risk to do it, at all. Today’s football in the UK is a very big value business. There is no place for fights between competing teams’ supporters, there’s a lot of place for family and friends time. As you see above, a lot of people come to Wembley when Spurs play now. Sometimes even 90,000 and when they leave the stadium all the surrounding area is full of them. Local businesses thrive. Good for London now, why not make such things possible in Poland too?!

We live like Europeans but we are Poles, first of all. We want Polish brave past to unite our contemporary times. Americans have Arlington, we ought to have Grunwald even more than a battlefield. Warmian-Masurian is the best place to change the way Poland celebrate national days! 🇵🇱

Golden grey November in Masuria

Masurian nature follows the path of life leading naturally towards the winter. Golden leaves glide down our trees. In Polish we call November: “listopad”, which literally describes what happens to trees in autumn. Grey sky makes November in Masuria a month of natural mystery, full of beauty of Sun beams sneaking through thick layer of clouds.

14th November

Our family in London unexpectedly surprised today: the Polish Radio Olsztyn reminds that exactly 95 years ago the BBC began daily radio broadcasts. It was 14th November 1922. What's also interesting, 50 years later - on 14th November 1972, one of the most famous Polish singers - Edyta Górniak, was born. She is 45 today. Congrats to all then!

Ladybirds and Masurian apples

Polish famous singer of '60s & '70s - Kasia Sobczyk, used to sing about lovely ladybirds wearing nice polka dots. Ladybirds are very helpful beetles we love in Masuria due to their positive role in Masurian ecosystem. We've got also a lot of crab apple trees in Masuria. They are very native to this part of Poland. Their fruits - all those little red apples, are quite sour but also very healthy. Home-made marmolade made of them is delicious. Ladybirds and crab apples make Masuria even more beautiful not only in summer.

A walk in autumn

A bit of cloudy weekend for you. Isn’t autumn in Masuria beautiful even when we experience no bright Sun in the sky for a while? Enjoy pictures taken while a walk across the forest. A pond met by the way ought to have some good name. Today’s systems of maps are precise enough to let us name democratically what we like in our favourite area!

Boys from Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship’s capital city won 3:1 in Mielec over the Stal. Congrats, everything’s possible when we do know we do a good job! ⚽️💙

Masurian Scotland

Today is an unique day for Polish people in entire world. Today we remember even more: where are we from and why we live. Our Roman went to Scotland for a short time. A few hours ago he visited Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh. Memorial of Wojtek - the Soldier Bear, is over there. Beautiful WW2 story. Would be not our nature - Roman says - to leave such place without a candle today. Two candles: white + red, made our day. Polish everyday life can be positively creative, our family try to prove it almost everyday. RIP, Wojtek (the bear)! ❤️ Very short footage: YouTube
