Summer in Masuria

Beautiful weather in Poland, beautiful weather in Masuria. We’ve got around +25C and this happens in our beautiful Masuria! Everything’s blooming but European crab apple trees do it most beautifully. Enjoy last weekend view, we know there’s only around +5C in London today! 🌧💨☔️

Masurian running in London

Good news from London. Our Roman's favourite track for running usually leads via the Polish War Memorial in Northolt. He says our memorial has been refurbished. There'll be no green effect in the fountain anymore. Water looks as clear as water in most of the Masurian lakes. Good job!

Olsztyn calling...

This gentleman’s appeared to be a challenger running for the presidential office in Olsztyn. We’ve got local elections in our country this Autumn. Mr. Michał Wypij is not only follower of ours but also a member of ruling political coalition in Poland. He seems not to be a leader of polls in Warmian-Masurian capital city but who knows 🙂 There’s a lot of time for all (im)possible changes. 6 months!

Stomil v Ruch

There is LIVE broadcast from the match taking place in Olsztyn now! Follow on Fb to enjoy Stomil v Ruch. Team from Chorzów probably will leave our league this season. Our boys still play for staying in Polish Championship. All our fingers and paws crossed! 🤞🏻🐾💙

Earth Day 2018

The Earth Day 2018 is today. We’ve been celebrating it for the 48th time since 1970. It is to draw our attention to the beauty of the world we live in, and to the growth of awareness regarding the need of saving our world for next generations. There are in fact no two similar ecosystems on our planet. Each one is unique and ought to admired by itself. Let’s stop during today’s family walks for a while, look around and enjoy the miracle of living nature.

Holy Mass in Olsztyn

There’s holy mass for “Biedrza” at 6pm on Saturday - 21st April 2018, in Olsztyn’s Jaroty district. What’s crucial, Stomil Olsztyn will play the match against Puszcza Niepolomice at 12:30pm to let football fans take part in the evening’s event. More via:

Mazur and Kenya

Something quite unusual happened yesterday in London. Our Roman was invited to a meeting with president of Kenya. It wasn’t his first meeting with a leader of country coming from Africa. Roman is a member of the Royal African Society and his work regards future development of that continent. What was unique in his opinion then? Very strict security that excluded even conversations. He said all his day was determined by that event but everything he was able to do was limited to one question only. Question regarded future development of public transport system in that part of Africa. There is very huge number of self-employed youth providing local transportation service. Long smart question met short smart answer: “I strongly believe.” Such things happen when professional in management meets professional in politics 🙂 Anyway, we’re very proud of our Roman!

Lady in Masuria

Walking across Masurian forests is not only healthy habit for all of us. It can bring a lot of fun, too. Have a look at the picture above. Our Masurian friend - Maria Olszowska from Mrągowo, spotted Daria’s cute “Lady” while a spring walk. It happens again, we saw something similar last year in a different spot. It looks like “Lady” is quite natural for Masurian nature, instead of being a British dog.

Roman’s conference in London

Our Roman, who is strategic development director of the Polish University Abroad, had a great day today in London. You know that he is very good man with big Polish heart and huge European brain. The conference cycle he created for the PUA over 8 years ago took place another time today. They commemorate the last Polish President in exile - Ryszard Kaczorowski, who died together with 95 other Polish people in “Smolensk catastrophe” in Russia in 2010. Roman says they do the biggest and most important Polish academic event outside Poland. Nothing strange it has happened for the 8th time and will be continued. We know that in 2 years that conference will concern Poles in western front of the WW2 👏🏻👏🏻

Spring, more and more!

Spring has neglected to come to Masuria this year. But we are really happy to welcome it just now. But it looks like Masurian spring knows more about the weather forecasts than humans. We say in Poland in April: “ne’er cast a clout till May be out”.

Spring, definitely!

A lot of cheering symptoms of spring on our friendly Warmian-Masurian lawyer’s TT: have a look... 🌞 Paweł Socha has been making our days!! What you see on the bottom pics is some kind of clinic for birds in Bukwałd. We wrote about it not long time ago. It’s not far from Olsztyn. All we love storks much in Poland. People taking such kind of care of them do a very good job over there! ❤️❤️

Seagulls from Masurian lakes

Seagulls are birds used to migration, in fact. Many of them come to Masuria in March. There are also seagulls living here all year long. They are rather noisy, while flying around or just sitting as a group. Now they have attractive feathers, because of laying period. Young birds’ll appear in Masuria in May.

Open day at the WMU

Open day at the Warmian-Masurian University in Olsztyn tomorrow! Details: here... As a matter of fact, why not to go study in Poland? If you are European Union citizen, go study in the capital city of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. It’s a good university, about 30k students, almost 100 studies types and unique climate of Kortowo district in Olsztyn - city of lakes. One of our Roman’s friends graduated from Warmian-Masurian University. He says she is very good at her job. You know he is Honorary Strategic Development Director for the Polish University Abroad in London.

Masurian Easter basket in Warsaw

This year everything you can find in our Easter basket is Masurian high quality. There’s not much meat as it was in our baskets in 1980s. Today we just eat much less sausages or hams than in our childhood. However, the internal layout of the basket stays trafditional.
