One sky, one world

Who’d say this picture was taken today in... western Kenya?! Could be Masuria or almost any part of the European Union, couldn’t it? Our Kenyan friend - Ms. Pearl, you can probably remember her as one of the newest Stomil Olsztyn’s fans, went to visit her family close to the Lake Victoria. She took the picture of sky above her head and we find it as very interesting. Have a closer look at it, we do definitely live under the same sky all over the Earth! Trees with the same green leaves, Sun shining like it usually does in Masuria during the summer. So, why we are not citizens of one world yet? One day we must be more mobile, to be able to travel form Lake Śniardwy to Lake Victoria quick and easy just to enjoy local nature 🤞🏻

Masurian-spring forest

A lot of light in Masurian forest this spring. Colours are so playful. Ground cover is blooming. White windflowers together with blue and purple liverworts make amazing carpets we can admire in all the Masuria.

Polish PhD in London

This is very interesting news from London! There will be some kind of intern institute for young academic researchers from Poland at the Polish University Abroad. It’s another step of the PUA growth our Roman says. You know he is Strategic Development Director for that old Polish organisation in the UK. As you see on pic they’ve been already running seminars for PhD candidates!

Super classic “schabowy” from Masuria

What you see on the pic is super classic lunch we can remember from our childhood in Polish 1980s. Sorrel soup with hard boiled egg, cucumber with sour cream and super classic “schabowy” with mashed potatoes. Schabowy is most popular cutlet in Poland even today. It’s made out of pork. We had such a lunch usually on Sundays, after attending church for a mass. Our Paweł found a restaurant serving our lunches everyday in Warsaw now !! 😍

Forget-me-nots

May is the most beautiful month of each year in Poland. Beautiful flowers of the forget-me-nots are blooming in blue, white or purple. Yesterday - on 15th May in fact, we celebrated a day of forget-me-nots in Poland. The idea is to remember always about important people, memories, places and things!

Roman in parliament

Most proud Masurian family now? Our one! 😊 Roman came to the upper chamber of our parliament  to deliver a presentation on his strategic development plans regarding the Polish University Abroad he manages as director in London. You probably can remember he made European Union started to include that old Polish organisation in their huge research projects. Roman says it’s Poland’s turn now. Obviously he’s right. As a matter of fact, he’s always right and we love him for his rightness ❤️

Mirabelle from Masuria

One of Masurian trees loving life in wild is mirabelle plum. You can find it not only close to forests but also on fields and meadows of our countryside. What you see on the picture above is its Spring dress. Blooming tree looks beautiful with all those thousands of little flowers. In about 2 months we will enjoy fruits. Mirabelle plums are sweet & zesty. Children living in Masuria like them very much.

Ruciane-Nida

Ruciane-Nida still sleepy a bit but getting ready for summer. Not many yachts, not too many tourists yet. This means a good time for visiting such a charming town to avoid holiday crowds. It is located in Pisz Forest and famous of old water gate “Guzianka”. It links two of Masurian lakes on the Great Masurian Lakes trail: Bełdany and Guzianka Mała. Ther’s also an unique factory dealing with seeds from cones. In front of that factory is 300-year-old oak called “Dobko”. And in Słowiańska street you can visit “Borejszówka”, a nice 100-year-old house made out of wood. Today is starting the longest weekend in Poland. We start to celebrate thee different celebration days, one after another. Ruciane turns into a family walk destination. And it will last in fact until the very late September.
